Learn more how customers reviews work on AmazonI love the build quality of all the epic gardening trays, however, the 4-cell trays come with an upgrade that has caused me a lot of issues. The soil cavity only goes to 1/4 inch off the ground, so it's like your pot is on 1/4 inch feet. I'm sure this is great for drainage, but it is horrible for bottom watering. If you have 6-cells and 4-cells in the same trays, your small cells end up muddy while the 4-cells are dry.
Also, for most flowers/veggies I grow, the roots rarely reach the bottom of the 4 inch deep cells. I don't have the same root issue with the shorter 4-cell trays.
In all, the 6-cells are great for seed starting and watering. The 4-cells are pretty good for potting up, but keep them in a tray with other similar 4-cell trays.
